Considering the seller is in Arizona and Jim is in Washington, it isn't.

Six days left and there is already 16 bids, that 1860 Army repro is going to get a lot of attention.

Thanks Crawdad! LOL. I would NEVER post an auction on my part here or anywhere else.

I have always had an oddball want for a shoulder stock for my 1851 Navy replicas but I am leaning toward not.

I just posted in case someone had a great want for such an item. I think if someone would want such an item that this might be an opportunity to possibly get in.

That's it!

Hey Jim. Thanks for the heads up on that auction, but I think I'll get blown out of the water when it gets close to its closing date. There is already a whole lot of people really interested in that 1860 Army.

cooldill:

There is a WEEK left for the auction.

I have to ask, is this your auction?

Just to assuage you, I have 3 C&B revolvers:

A Replica Arms 1848 Pocket .31 (ASM)

A Pietta 1851 Navy Squareback/Round TG .36

A Pietta G&G Brasser .36

I am not anywhere in the market to sell anything.

If anything, I am only willing to BUY, funds willing.

Not trying to be an A@hole. I have thoroughly enjoyed your posts on this forum, to be sure.

You are welcome, but everyone takes their chances! Been there, done that. I think that is half of the fun. Glad to see you might be interested.

Good luck, sir, and don't get too caught up in the auction. I think the seller knows that that item is a good piece and is probably sitting back watching how far this thing will go. I have watched many auctions and the ones like these with $.01 starting bids and no reserve generate many bids and ultimately end up generating a very high price for the seller, rather than the seller denoting a minimum bid, a high "buy it now" price, and it just sits and sits for many months.

IMO, I think guys like this seller are savvy auctioneers and depend upon folks like me to push the button and bid higher, all the while watching the other bidders to push the button as well.

Again, good luck sir!

Jim

Still has almost a week to go, but right now @ $280: not too bad for a used Pietta 1860 w/ shoulder stock.

I'm not going to bid as I have my hands full right now. I just bought a '51 Navy Second Generation Colt off my buddy. This guy, I tell ya, he has a bunch of Colt Pythons and SAAs still sitting in their original boxes unopened. I saw how he treated his ROA after a shooting session back in October and I knew I had to get that Colt off of him before he messed that up.

This Colt is typical from what I have experienced of their Second and Third Generation revolvers. At full cock there is absolutely no play, no fore and aft movement, no sideways movement in the cylinder of this Colt. Its as tight as a bank vault. So when the weather brakes I'll order some 375 and 380 ball for it and work up some loads.

So I got my hands full already. :)
