I am also contemplating the SIG 1911-22 (or GSG). I keep trying to find something better in that $400 to $500 range. Not interested in a Ruger Mark or Buck Mark. Already have one.
Looking at ISSC M22 Target but getting some negative input about that one. But I really like it.
I have a 1911-11. So far I've been very pleased. It is quite accurate, easy sights and has a nice trigger. It cost about $340 if I recall, and at that price, it's a good value IMHO. I rate it 8.5 out of 10.
Take a look at the Colt/ Walther/ Umarex 1911-22. It has several advantages over the GSG/Sig. Its a 12 shot, is tool less takedown, and has a steel reinforcing pin in the slide stop notch. It also is designed much closer internally to the real 1911s, so many parts interchange.
I had a Sig 1911-22 and kept it for 200 rounds only. I wanted a 1911 platform. Somehow I could not get good groups with it. I was shooting the Remington bulk ammo with it. Of course, I did not have the chance of trying other 22LR brands because of the shortage. I traded it in for the RUger 22/45 Lite. I am most definitely satisfied with the Riger over the the Sig. The Ruger is also much cheaper.
