Well,
The sig nitron railed is going back for ftf issues. It has a tight chamber and won't reliably chamber any kind of ammo.
While I was on the phone with the rep, he mentioned 20% off factory upgrades if the gun was in under warranty for service. He quoted $140 with the discount for a trigger assembly service which should take the 5lb trigger release down to 4lbs and make it much crisper. I politely declined, but was frankly a little put off, since my Sig 1911 has the mushiest trigger of the four 1911's I own....it should have come out of the factory with a better trigger in the first place, IMO....it's not terrible, just mushy up to the break...but I can live with it.
Next he offered a 3 hole trigger in place of the solid one, which I again declined...i can only see them as place for debris to be wedged into, but I have no experience with the skeleton triggers.
The one thing I was interested in were a sight upgrade, and the flared magwell upgrade for $60. The gun is pretty basic, with standard sights, non-ambi safety, solid trigger, just a standard tacpac railed.
How much benefit does a flared magwell give, and are there cons as well as pros?
Any other factory upgrades I should consider? And should I reconsider the trigger job or skeleton trigger?
Honestly, I have my doubts about the quality of some of the sig parts, having seen the cheap laser that came with the gun, and the Chinese holo sight that came with my 556 that is ncstar rebranded as sig.....are their factory upgrade parts good quality, or would the money be better spent on something from Wilson combat or the like?
Thanks
