I have always liked traditional Sigs. They have their own "take" on the full size 1911. Many Many models which appear mostly cosmetic to me. The internals I believe to be the same. Just dressed up different.

Anyway. How accurate are they compared to say Dan Wesson, Colt or other good guns.? Not in the price range of the Wilson or Les Baer;) (full size models)

Not a "true" 1911 with the external extractor but SW does that also.

Any better than say Springfield Armory Loaded, The new Ruger, SW??

I have 3. They are all amazing.

Very accurate, I started IDPA a year ago, only shot CDP with my 1911's.

After a year, I am now starting to win my group/age/divisions!

I replaced the barrel in my first Sig 1911 with an Ed Brown match barrel.

WOW it is amazing! good fit for my hand. I polished all surfaces in the trigger linkage for a slick, nice feel.

Black Nitron, Ed Brown barrel

All Stainless Steel, stock barrel.

TTT, combo of both with match grade barrel.

I get alot of inquiry and questions about them when I shoot. Very positive about the gun.

be safe

I have a traditional slide Sig Scorpion 1911 non rail, along with a few other 1911s, and I had a Ruger SR1911. I would say that my Sig is a better pistol than the Ruger and on par with my heavily modified Springfield. The only 1911 that I have that is better than the Sig is my TRP which costs 2x as much.

They don't compare to a Dan Wesson or STI in quality. No contest. Sig has progressively used cheaper, lower-quality internals on their 1911s since they were introduced (as with all of their other guns since Cohen took charge). In addition to being butt-ugly (my opinion, of course), the more expensive of the Sig 1911s are poor values, as the prices aren't far off from those of much better pistols from the two aforementioned brands.

I have a older DW Pointman 7 and it's hard to find a gun that will shoot as well as it does (for the price I paid used back then of course) I do not want to pay the Ed Brown or Les Baer prices so something a bit less than those.;)

If the Valor is a little too rich ($1,379 for stainless/night sights or $1,699 for "Duty" finish/night sights on Gunbroker), you can find a NIB Dan Wesson Heritage with night sights for $1,059.

Kimbers are some of the very worst values in the 1911 universe, as far as I'm concerned. At every price point in Kimber's lineup, there are much higher-quality 1911s available from other makers. The more expensive of the Sig 1911s are similarly poor values.

When I couldn't find a new DW Pointman 7, I "settled" on a Sig 1911 railed TacPac. I called Sig customer service and they verified all 5" Sig 1911s are built on stainless steel frame/slide using match barrels and TacPac is essentially the same pistol as TacOps without the ambi safety/magwell/night sights.

I have over 9000 rounds through my Sig and have not experienced any parts breakage and only replaced the recoil spring. The black Nitron finish is holding up well. It has tighter chamber than many other 1911s with quick start of rifling (almost no leade) but has fed 200 gr SWC reloads reliably with factory/Chip McCormick/Wilson Combat magazines. I have only used Hoppes #9 and Breakfree CLP.

As to accuracy, after 8000+ rounds, it's shooting around 1" shot groups at 15 yards and 2" shot groups at 25 yards with reloads (200 gr lead SWC/4.0 gr Promo and 230 gr RMR TP RN/5.0 gr W231/HP-38):

I don't have other 1911s to compare to but my SIG GSR 1911 (about 5 years old) is extremely accurate - at least as accurate as my German SIG P220 and my HK45.

Never had a single issue with it. Very happy with it.

And you can buy a sig 1911 nitron railed tacpac for under $700. Mine has been great, with better machining and components than my Colt.
Don't know why you are trying to sell "sigs suck" so hard but until I hear someone that shares your opinion who actually owns one, its just hot air to me.

You can get either the Black nitron or the Stainless steel models for right around $1000.

Then you can upgrade from there if you want to. Sky is the limit!

be safe

And I have to disagree 100% on the Sigs.

I would take the sig over a similarly optioned Kimber or Springfield any day of the week. I've owned all three and the only one I still have is my Sig GSR Revolution. Great gun, reliable, and accurate. I carry it when I'm in the mood as my concealed carry weapon.
