Hi folks, I was wondering whether any of you have experience with the sig 220 carry model with the melt treatment and the sao trigger. I've never seen the melt treatment in person, but can you tell me how severely those edges and corners are rounded, and your overall impression of the melt treatment?

Also, what is the sao trigger feel like in weight and crispness, and what is the significance of a gen 2 gun?

Thanks for the info!!! Like usual, I put one on layaway without knowing much about the pistol or even seeing one in person, and I hope I made a good decision. Btw, they are $699 new with rosewood grips and nite sights at buds right now.

I 'm not sure if you have your designations confused or if SIG just combined some parts they had on hand...what you describe isn't in their catalog, but that isn't always the most up to date source.

SIG makes a 220 Carry, which comes with a SAO trigger

...and they make a 220 Carry with their SAS (which is what I think you mean by melt) treatment. The Gen 1 had a DAK trigger

...and the Gen 2 has the DA/SA trigger

I haven't heard about a combination of the SAS treatment and the SAO trigger

I had the sas gen 2 229. The edges are rounded pretty well. The biggest thing with the Sao is going to be the hammer.

It is an unusual gun, and I am a tad confused, lol.

Gotta watch out for hammer bite?
