No - this isn't a sneak preview of a new SiG, it's just something I have lusted after for a long time now, a hicap P239 in 9mm.

I see a fatter double stack grip not lengthened beyond its current dimensions, and holding maybe 12 rounds. The gun would be otherwise stock.

Does this design appeal to you, would you buy it, or do you see it as a bad idea given the P239's prowess as a slim CCW piece ?

What do you guys think.

To me personally, no. I have a P229 for that purpose.

The beauty of the 239 to me is it's single stack thinness. Not knocking your idea, it is just not for me.

Chris

That's ok Chris, that's what I'm looking for, I want to see if anyone would buy it.

Maybe SiG would make one just for me when the AWB expires ;)

I'm afraid you will have to wait in line as they will be making me a commerative SIG 551 with enough parts specially machined in New Hampshire to make it legal. They are even throwing in 6 magazines just for me in celebration of the AWB going away.

So I'm afraid your SIG 240 or 239DS (double stack) will have to wait.:neener:

Same here...the P239 works so well for me in its current state. Yes, though...I DO crave both the 228 and the 229 as well! :)

varoadking....

No really let it out. I think he really want's honest answers without holding anything back. Reach down deep and tell us what you really think. :D

I would like to hold a SIGPRO compact but I doubt we will ever see them on this side of the pond.

Chris

Isn't that what they call a P220 (in 9mm)??

Yep because in Europe they use the metric system. For example, do you know what they call a Quarter Pounder in Denmark.........A Royale With Cheese.

Sorry couldn't resist, it just seemed to fit.:D

Newton, not knocking your idea but I like the P-239 the way it is, as I purchased it for primary CCW in 9MM, I would not want to see the size increase and diminish the CCW advantage.

I would definitely purchase a 10 round 357SIG mag or four to use as my spare mag. I wouldn't want to mess with this weapon in any other way as it is very close to perfect in my hands.
