SIG P239 9MM pistol poly vs. alloy

I am looking to buy a SIG P239 in 9MM. I can get a poly version 17.7 oz. Or an alloy version 25.2 oz. Both NIB the price difference between them is 0ne dollar. My question is that i will use this pistol for carry, witch one of the two versions would be more accurate, and reliable? For carry i would rather have the lighter pistol, but if the alloy is more accurate and reliable i will deal with the extra 8 oz. Advise me on what to buy please.:confused:
 
I gotta say it, ive never heard of a Polymer frame Sig P239. The Sig P2022 is a polymer frame gun, but i dont think the P239 had ever been made with a Polymer frame.
 
Sorry pat no poly framed 239. Perhaps you are reading the grip material as frame material on the specs. The p239 is a single stack available in three calibers. The single stack makes for easier concealment but reduces ammo capacity. Another although thicker option is the double stack P229. Which is also offered in three calibers.

If weight is an issue the 2022 is an excellent weapon. Very reliable and accurate.
 
The P2022 is also extremely affordable, and makes a great carry option. I know one of the complaints about the P239 is the weight, as its an all metal pistol.
 
Frame material generally doesn't have any impact on reliability or accuracy. Seems like poly pistols tend to be reliable, but I think that in general over the last twenty-twenty five years manufacturers have realized that reliability is not optional if you want your pistol to do well in the open market. Poly pistols have the advantage of being manufactured and invented during the age of the JHP, where it's not acceptable to release a model on the market that can't feed anything but specifically shaped ball ammo.

I don't know what you looked at, could have been a P290, those have poly frames, but they shouldn't cost a dollar different than a 239, unless the 239 has a killer pricetag on it.
