Sig P250 - $580 NIB Locally

I'm considering blowing some of my stockpiled "endangered long gun" money on a pistol to fill the larger carry gun niche, as well as just a shooter.

I admit, I was totally put off when I saw the P250 and its "modularity" seemed to be a gimmick for someone who doesn't actually know what they want, but has money to blow.

That being said, $580 for a brand new Sig Sauer is unreal, and the modularity can only be a plus should I buy it.

The caliber interchangability is probably not something I would employ, but the idea of having a full size barrel, slide, and frame for shooting and winter carry, and a compact setup for summer carry does appeal to me.

As I searched threads on the P250, it seemed everybody had the same problems with it, and were turned off because they assumed it would go for ALOT more, but even if I left it as is, $580 sounds pretty good.

What do you guys think?

I plan on buying one when I can afford it. A friend of mine let me shoot his, and I enjoyed it. However, it's not like the classic P series Sigs. It has a long (to some, very long) but very light double action only trigger pull. It was super smooth, and there was not indication as to when it was going to fire. Recoil was very manageable in the compact form, and the sights were nice. Lockup seemed very tight like my P226 does.

I'll get one because I really enjoyed shooting it, and I'm thinking the small grip frame and light trigger pull will work for my tiny-handed fiancee. $580 is a pretty good price. I say go for it.

I read something about the stock model (9mm only) is compatible with .357 Sig and.40 S&W, but in order to chamber .45 ACP, something else has to go on. I would assume you would simply HAVE to use either the medium or large grip frame as opposed to the slimmer gripframe. Can anybody confirm thiat?

The frame is not the gun on the P250, therefore SIG will be selling different frames as part of the modularity. This gives the ability to go to a larger caliber like .45 (along with barrel etc. I would assume). It also gives you the ability to buy a full size, mid size and subcompact frame etc.

I just fondled a P250 at my favorite gun store today.



That piece had one of the sweetest "double action only" triggers I have ever pulled on any gun - including some tricked-out revolvers I've handled.

Worth a look.
