A question please.

I need to replace a front sight on a Ruger 10-22.

Would a P500 sight pusher work for a rifle front sight?

This is a link describing said pusher.

My immediate need is for a 10-22 but I would also like to use it on some handguns and other long guns as well.

If there is a better tool could someone please recoment it.

PS I am somewhat of a mechanical KLUTZ so the easiest most foolproof sight pusher is desired. Believe it or not cost is a secondary issue (There are some advantages to mandatory overtime and call ) NukemJIm

A bench block or padded vice is the prefered method.
But lacking that, a 12" chunk of 4"x4" deck post stood on end will work nicely.

Just don't try to support the work on you knees while beating on it.
The barrel, or other gun part needs to be solid so the sight moves when you hit it, not the whole gun.
