Hey all,

I posted this in the accessories forum but thought it might be more visible in here...I'm hoping it's ok to post this here and the other forum as well......?

Will the EOTech HWS sight mount to the SU16CA? If it will, does it render the iron sights inoperable or is there a see through feature like with some scope mounts?

Also, I'd love to know your opinions of the HWS both for close quarters and at range. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have an Eotech on my SU16CA. You cannot co-witness sights. It's one or the other. The irons sit too low on the rail. You can leave teh irons on but you have to move your Eotech forward. I find it extremely easy to shoot with the Eotech. I'd go for the eotech.

Sorry for the crappy pictures...they were taken with my webcam, by taking screenshots of the recording program.

I have a Trijicon Reflex II, and love it. The lack of batteries is a great thing. :)

Not sure about the CA version, but the B version of the rifle will not allow the sights to be co-witnessed. I don't know of any see-through mounts either.

The rail is a Weaver rail, and it fits the RX14 from Trijicon (the mount for the Reflex II) perfectly. A bit of loctite and the perscribed amount of torque has the thing sitting firmly on top of the rifle. It even matches the black plastic. :)

I've had trouble mounting a Picatinny Trijicon Aimpoint sight on the Weaver rail...evidently the notches in the rail are not the appropriate width to accept the crossbar on the mount. This could be remedied with a small to file down the nubs on the rail, but this isn't something I was terribly willing to do, but I'm sure if I felt it was necessary, it'd only take a few moments to do.

sactown, that is an awesome looking SU16, where did you find the AR15-type handguard and frontsight and stuff for it?

I got the forend from a member over at www.ktog.org. The muzzle brake is a Levang Linear Compensator. The irons sights are all stock. All I added was the muzzle brake and the forend.

Nice setup Sactown...it's exactly what I've had in mind. Concerning the Levang Linear Compensator what advantages is it giving you and are there any negative concerns with them too?

Sactown...I just read that the 16CA has a threaded barrel...is that so? If so I thought that would make it non-legal for Calif.? Maybe I'm wrong..I hope I'm wrong :)

Threaded barrel is legal as long as you don't install a flash suppressor. Compensator or brake is OK though

That is a the compact forend for the SU. You can buy it directly from Kel-tec for around $50.
