does anybody know if a size 10 speed loader is supposed to fit a colt trooper mk III?

The same chart doesn't tell you that the Colt Python can use the K-frame (10-A) speedloader. The opposite is also true.

I can go home and try, generally in my experience, you can use the smaller ones a bit easier on larger guns rather than the other way around, especially if you have the ones with some play in them (I think there were two versions of the 10, one with play and one without?), you use the taper of the rounds to start them, release the loader, and let the rounds slide/drop in. They do make one specifically for the MKIII.

It also depends on your dexterity, I figured out how to reload a jframe with a kframe speedloader, you have to jiggle it just right, and let the extra round drop, though it is probablyl easier for most to just drop the rounds into your hand and manually load the old old fashioned way.

It's smoothest to use the one made for the gun, and the HKS M3 is made for the Mk III Trooper.

You are absolutely correct. And I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it didn't fit the Trooper III as well. Unfortunately, I can't swear to it.
