I am looking for some slim bobtail grips for my CBOB. I would love to get them in black with a checkering pattern. Not too agressive but not too smooth.

I like micarta and alum.... Thoughts?

Aluminum? I know guys say they like it, but it's too much a heat sink for me. suck the heat out of your hand in a second. Bleh..
Olympus on the general pistol board would be happy to make you some pretty ones, just the right thickness

He only works in wood IIRC. I like his stuff but it is not what I am looking for right now.

I've been happy with VZ Grips, which come in thin & Bobtailed styles.

I have also just cut the corners off-of an existing pair of grips to fit them to a bobtailed pistol. Fixed the bevel with some sandpaper on glass and it was done.

Rellascout, you could easily buy a set of standard 1911 slim grips and bobtail them yourself. I'm fixing to say the dreaded word here on the gun boards, but a Dremel with a cutoff wheel, sanding wheel, and some sandpaper, as well as a careful hand, and you have instant bobtailed grips.

Personally, I haven't come around to the slim grip craze. I kind of like the scallop that protects the plunger tube myself (which most slim grips lack), and I can't say that the standard grips have ever been too fat for me, but hey, what do I know? Maybe I'm missing something great, I dunno.

Best of luck getting what you're after anyway. Show us some pics of the new furniture if you get any.

Best,

Jason

I like VZ Grips Slim 360.

They feel like 360 grit sandpaper, hence the name.

Check out the VZ Gator Back and VZ 360 grips. Those two designs should meet your requirements.
