What's the general consensus on single point slings? I'm looking at a Magpul MS3 but wouldn't mind another option to look at.

Does anyone prefer a bungee section on a single point? My go-to for AR style rifles is a mamba sling and I appreciate the stretch sometimes. This will be used on an AR pistol.

Don't know how much good this will do you in your particular case, but:

1. A lot of folks don't care for bungee slings - too much chance of damaging ye olde private parts with the bouncing / dangling.

2. I have a few of the MS4 slings and like them, BUT you need to make sure the rear mount on your gun is far enough forward (or you are tall enough) so the gun will not hang too low (again, making it tough to walk without "the boyz" complaining!).

3. I have an MS4 on a S&W 15-22 MOE that came with a QD mount located in front of the buffer tube, made into the rear of the receiver - it keeps the rifle high and tight.

4. I also have an MS4 on a Tavor, and it hung way too low with the OEM mount. I purchased a FLEx Swivel and mounted it with the QD in the forward position, and now the Tavor also rides high and tight.

Is a 2 point even useful on an AR pistol? The single point seems like the obvious choice. I've heard people say the exact same thing you have with the hitting below the belt problem! I can see how the bungee could cause more issues when it's hanging muzzle down. Seems like you'd need to keep a hand on it most of the time. This will just be used for the range btw, no serious HD duties or anything.

To each his own. The singles are nice in that the shooter can switch right-or left easy. Put a q-d attachment on your gun and sling and you can leave the sling on and lay the gun aside (driving for example). You can make them yourself easy. They suck for CQB/urban combat cause when your hands are occupied (swinging tools, fast roping, carrying litters, climbing ladders, etc.) your gun is all over the place. Chances are you will never do any of this. Or maybe you will, I don't know. Try both. I make my singles, for dual point use V-TAC, accept no substitute.

I like the MS3 because i can use it as a 2 point when i want it and convert it quickly to a single point when i need it.

Bungee slings are an invention of the devil. He doesn't like your manly bits and wants to destroy them. Thus, the invention of the bungee sling.

I prefer a two point sling for retention. Specifically, a quick adjusting 2 pt sling like the vcas. A vtac isn't a bad option either.

With the vcas loosened, you can slip your support arm through the sling and easily transition from shoulder to shoulder. Or you could utilize qd rings and a tri glide to quickly convert it from a 2 point to a 1 point. Sort of like the ms3 sling mentioned above.

Sling preference is personal. Try out as many as you can.
