Small Fixed Blade for everyday Carry

Well guys im looking for a small unobtrusive fixed blade knife that i could carry everyday that would no show more than a folder while in my pocket or on my belt.

price range for this is under $60
id like a blade thats 2.5inch or smaller

I like the Kershaw "Leek". For a smaller blade than 4", I suggest the Kershaw "Chive". Both have the assisted opening, and are under $60. Be warned, that using the assisted opening system is fun, and can become addictive!

Timberline, CRKT, Cold Steel and others produce fixed blade knives in your price range and with blades in that range. They all tend to have proportionally small grips, though, while the ones from AG have a little more in the hand.

You ask about an EDC, but you don't indicate what it has to do. What is it intended for?

try to track down a CRKT falcon on ebay or a similar place. great little fixed blade knife that CRKT (in their infinite wisdom) decided to discontinue. you can get a lot of 3 for < $50.

If the knife your looking for is for utility and you don't need a point, check out Klein tools for their splicer knife. 6" overall with a 1 3/4" blade. As an electrician I've carried one for 20 years. I just checked online and the cost is under $15. It is a great tool for the person that uses a knife a lot.

There are a lot of pretty decent fixed blades for $50 and under but the problems are the terrible sheaths. I picked up a CRKT Ryan Plan B for $12 and it's a decent little knife but the sheath is useless. You could have somebody like Shawn's Tactical custom make a sheath, which may or may not break your budget.

The Ka-Bar D2 is an amazing fixed blade, but there are a few models with prices from $40 to $70 and have a blade a bit longer than you want...

+1 on the CRKT Plan B, and on the worthlessness of the sheath. I have removed the clip and carry the sheathed knife in a pocket where I can easily flick off the sheath as I draw the knife out. Handy, stout little knife with a comfortably curved handle, which is just what I was after. I may have to give up and get a decent sheath made for it, though.

And while I'm thinking of it, why does CRKT always discontinue the knives I like?

Try Anza.

They've got several knives that will fit your needs.

Fixed-blade, 2 - 2 1/2", full length handle (finger grooves if you prefer), heavy spine blades, hand made by local folks, great people, great prices.

I love my 5 1/2" Anza, and my father in law uses his 2 1/2" every day on the job.

Alot Of Finnish Puukko Knives Fit That Description Pretty Well.

There are alot of Finnish Puukko knives that fit that description for that price.

There's four pages of Puukko knives over at Northerner, here's an example of one.

There are a whole bunch over there to choose from, each one's better than the last. The one that I saw that would probably fill your needs pretty well is the various Tornedals knives on page 1 or the Iisakki Hunting Knife on page 2.

This particular Tornedal knife breaks the $60 limit (I just posted it to give you an idea of what they look like without having to click on the link), but there are a whole bunch of other Puukko knives on there (including some of the Tornedals knives) that fit within the $60 limit.
