I have a Colt Agent and I am having a grip problem. Since I bought the gun, I have tried a few grips and options but nothing seems quite right. What I am looking for is a hard rubber grip like what comes on the new S&W J-frames. It is called a boot grip I think. Where can I find a rubber boot grip for the small SQ butt D-frame Colt?

As far as I know, there are only two grip makers still making rubber grips for the Colt "D" frame guns.

Pachmayr, offers their "Compac" grip which is pretty much the "standard" for the snub Colt "D" frames.
Colt used the Pachmayr Compac for years as their alternative grip for the snub "D" guns, and later, it was the grip installed at the factory.
They also offer the Gripper, which is a larger, more contoured grip with finger grooves.

The second rubber grip is the Hogue. This is slightly larger than the Pachmayr Compac.

No one makes a rubber boot grip for the Colt "D" framed guns, and as far as I know, never did.
By the time the boot grip started becoming popular, Colt had discontinued the small frame revolvers.

Have you considered Colt factory wood + the Tyler T-Grip adapter?

I had Pachmayr compacs on my Agent for quite a while, but somehow they seemed to get unbearably sticky over time. (the Agent is stored in a lockbox and not carried, maybe it was a humidity issue?)
