Looking around the internet it appears to me that there are more small ammunition manufacturers than there were two years ago. Perhaps as a result of the big surge in ammo demand following the last Presidential Election.

What do you all think? Are there more small US ammo makers out selling on the internet now?

Will this drive ammo prices down in the coming year?

Do you have any favorite small ammo manufacturers? I've bought some decent stuff from Bitterroot Valley in the last three months.

Heard some horror stories about how my Desert Eagle in 44mag would never function right. Bought a normal box of of winchester and also a 100 rd box ffrom PBR (Parabellum Research). Asked the owners if they ever had anyone try to cycle their ammo through a DE. They said no but promised me they would help me make loads that would if their current stock didn't.

The winchester would fail to feed on the last round of every mag while the PBR worked flawlessly.

PS- Got the 44 mag from them at a gun show for 45acp prices

The market prompted new entries to take advantage of the excess profits resulting from the shortage caused by increased demand. As supply increases and prices come back down, I think you'll see many of the smaller firms unable to take advantage of the economies of scale and exit the market. The ones that can ramp up to a profitable level at lower margins will survive, while many will go under or be bought up, ceteris paribus.
