I have this Smith Perfected .38 double action revolver, serial number on the bottom of the grip is 703.
The gun is tight cylinder is nice and smooth double action works, everything mechanically works fantastic, grips are great no cracks or anything ,bore is good also., cosmetically is where the problem lies. (See Pictures)
Any input would be helpful, I would like to sell it , I'm not greedy but I don't want to get hosed either .
Thanks in advance ,
Willy

In 2006 the Standard Catalog of S&W gave the following values:
As New $1100, Excellent Plus $550, Excellent $375, Fine $275, Very Good $235, Good $200, Fair $130, Poor $60. Your gun probably rates as very good going by the books description.
Asking at www.smith-wessonforum.com will probably get you more up to date pricing and possibly a buyer.
Otherwise check out online auction sites such as Auctionarms, gunbroker, gunsamerica and armsbid.
