So how soft are the standard Tula Small Rifle primers?

I could have swore I ordered the harder cups, but apparently I ordered some of the plain Tula small rifles. I realize the slam fire thing is a bit overblown with the AR15, but there is certainly such a thing as too soft.

55 gr at 3000 fps out of a 20" with Wc844. Not a nuclear load. Think the primers will be okay?

Tula primers are hard enough to not even worry about them. I load them in my .223 ammo and they work just fine. 25.5 gr of AA2230 gives me 3015 fps (+/- 20 fps according to my chrono) and that's from a 16" BBL. No pressure signs and haven't had a slam fire yet, no matter how fast I crank my AR-15's.

I do like to use the Wolf/Tula .223 primers as they do have a stouter primer cup but I have no problems with the standard ones. Winchester, on the other hand-----

I'm still using the older Wolf SR primers with WC844 but I run it at about 2800 and I've experienced no problems. I have the new 556 primers but I'm using up the older ones. Still have about 20,000 more to use up.
