Just out of curiosity, suppose a full gun ban was put into effect, what would happen to all of those people who worked in the industry? They really never think these things through ^^^do they? I mean we are talking about a huge industry worth billions and billions. We are talking about a large amount of people who will be laid off, out of work, not to mention the soldiers who will need to find full time work when they return. I work in the industry so this hits close to home. Now if big you know who wants to give us all $100k a year then great otherwise they are going to really hurt and already week economy.

I suppose they would all lose their jobs, but there's pretty much zero chance of a full ban. The companies will adapt or die.

That is exactly my point. This country cannot afford many more lay offs. As the unemployment goes up things will get worse than they are now and eventually lead to the demise of this economy. You take jobs for stupid reasons such as this then you have to provide something to replace them with otherwise it's not going to work. People are only going to take so much of that especially when you cut their means to a living off for such stupid reasons. The politicians are naive to believe a full gun ban would keep firearms out of this country. Hell, they cannot even keep illegals out of the country so how the hell ^^^do they expect to keep arms from crossing the borders. All they will ^^^do then is put money in the suppliers pockets, which will not be money formthis country's economy furthering their own demise.

federal gun ban out of the question

I was talking with some family about this over the weekend after watching some of the Sunday shows. I thought LaPierre did a pretty good job on MTP considering how stressed he must be. The topic of the high-tech manufacturing jobs that gun makers offer Americans did not come up, which would have strengthened his argument.

This country cannot afford many more lay offs.

Gun ban → more government control over people's lives.

Gun industry layoffs → more people on government assistance → more government control over their lives.

Mutually supporting.

Possessing guns will never be illegal......you people are either bored, stirring the pot or crazy.
