I have both the 'Field Pup' and the
"Seal Pup" http://sogknives.com/store/E37TS.html
Both are excellent blades, but the Seal Pup is my main fixed blade carry knife.

The Field Pup is a great inexpensive fixed blade knife. It would work well for the purposes you mention. I have one. I'm not fond of the sheath.
I carry a Seal Pup Elite in the woods sometimes but it really isn't a good knife for field dressing game for me. I prefer a knife with a thinner smaller blade for that activity and in fact generally just use on of my Trappers (folder). Maybe I should dig out the Field Pup for that activity.
