As the title says, I just moved to the Ft. Campbell, KY and Clarksville, TN area. I'm finding that there doesn't seem to be any convenient places for shooting or archery. I'm an Army officer btw.

I'd love to find some open land to shoot on for free. Barring that I've hit a dead end on finding gun clubs here.

I haven't yet investigated the Army bases ranges because getting a gun on post is an administrative hassel so I can't imagine the hassel of getting a dozen guns on post or the risk of oversight of not registering or transporting something properly.

Anyone in this location with experience?

Heres what you do. For Pistols or Rifles, wait for saturday, then go in gate 4, and drive until you come to the last stop sign, Take a right and the range is immediately on the left. Ok, that is a bit confusing, because its not the straightest shot....so the range is at the corner of Market Garden and Screaming Eagle. Otherwise you can take your pistol to the Shell Shop in Hopkinsville, KY. Now, get on 41A and head towards Hoptown, then take a left at the light by walmart. There is a gas station on the right, and a road leading to walmart (its the only entrance), Take that left and go down, under the bridge they may or may not have completed yet, and you will see the Shell Shop on the right. They have a 2 lane indoor range downstairs. Its a membership fee and about 6 bucks an hour to shoot. Thats the only two places i ever could find while i was there.

Good luck at Ft. Campbell. Currahee!!!!

There's a new range in Southside not far outside of Clarksville. When it's finished, there will be no other like it in this country.

Right now there is a 100 yd range, and a skeet range. Soon to follow will be a 500 yd range, archery and a bunch of other stuff. It's open Thursday thru Sunday.

Contact me offlist and I'll give you some contact info. I'm going this week to shoot this T53 Mosin Nagant.
