Any body have any data for Solo 1250?

I am interested in trying it for medium plus loads in .357. I would rather not interpolate (guess) to start, but I will if I have to..........

I have enough data with similar powders to give me a safe starting point, but some one with experience or real data would be helpful. AC

I have a .pdf copy of the original Scott load data but for whatever reason, the forum script refuses to upload it. Let me know the bullet weights and I'll see what I can do on the specifics. I recently needed some updated data on S-1000 and fired off an email to Accurate...they responded very quickly.

EDIT: Check your PM...sometimes the back door works best.

A quick trip to the range after work. Got there about 4:00PM.

7.5 grains of Solo 1250, CCI 500 primers, Midway "blemish sale" 125 Grain XTP's, loaded at 1.570 O.A.L., with a medium roll crimp, and shot at 99 Degrees (In the shade ) through a 6" Colt Trooper Mk III.

7.5 grains gave a 90 to 95% full case, which I like.

A good start. Thanks for the data D. Manley. :)

7.5 was below the starting load. I loaded 8.0 last night to try today. (still well under max) Then it will be increments of .1. I don't expect to go past 8.5, and it probably be under. 8.0 filed the case a solid 95%. I am out of 158 grain bullets, but will try them as well when I get some. I'll try some 140's as well.

Oh yea, brass was trimmed to 1.280.

When I got my thermometer out of my range bag yestrday it read over 115 degrees after being in the car all day.

It's only supposed to be in the mid 90's the rest of the week. :)

What a coinkidink, the local small shop I just noticed a box full of dusty jars of Scot 1250 on a bottom shelf, semi-forgotten. The 12-oz bottles. Had no idea if they were fast or slow or what. Looked like HS6 or 800-X in the burn charts.

Have to maybe try some if price is right.

I bought a pound for $14.95 at the gunshow last weekend. I shot the 8.0 grain load yesterday after work (98 degrees). One very interesting thing with Solo 1250 was that the powder forward velocities were more than the powder back velocities. Not that big a difference at 7.5 grains, but 100 FPS difference on both max and avg for 8.0 grains. Very good ES & SD on both loads. I am going to try 8.1 or 8.2 next. It is very clean and seems accurate. It may work very well for midrange .357's.

edit:

I assumed it was a pound, but it may be 12 Oz. It is very bulky.
