Anyone out there used solo 1000 or clays for .38 super? I have been using blue dot and acc #9 and dont like the fact that i have to compress the charge when loading the rounds hot. Some ipsc shooters i have asked mentioned the 2 shotgun powders and now im curious if anyone else out there has used one of these powders.

That is an extreme change from what you've been shooting. I love Clays and S-1000 for other things but for Super, I don't think either one would be on my short list. Clays is unpredictable at high pressures and certainly not a powder you want to push too hard. With S-1000, you'd be pretty well "flying blind" since load data is sparse...it is a very, very fast powder and is almost certainly going to hit the pressure barrier before reaching upper tier velocities. In the end, I suspect you'll be happier with something along the lines of Silhouette, 3-N-37, HS-6 or Power Pistol.

Please provide a little more info. You mention hot loads for IPSC with a .38Super, but:
What class?
Compensator?
Bullet weight?
Major Power Factor?

Solo 1000 and Clays are not really the best choice for making major PF and producing sufficient gas to run a compensator. In my own very small and humble opinion, both are the wrong choice of powder. But maybe someone else likes them. If you really want to see how they shoot, you can always buy a pound of each and try them. I often find it better to experience these things myself.

That is a huge jump from Blue Dot and AA #9 to Clays and Solo 1000. Those are both excellent powders but would not be my choice in .38 Super. The powders best suited to the Super are in between those burn rates. More in the medium to medium slow range.

I like AA #2 or N320 for light .38 Super loads with Zero 125 Gr JHP's. (1200 FPS)

If you want to make it go faster, powders such as Ramshot's Silohuette are much better suited.

D Manley gave you three other good choices as well.
