Hilton Yam was recently named a top tier 1911 pistol smith by a magazine...his company also produces some excellent sight sets and parts.

Beyond that, Hilton is also a working FBI SWAT team member...that is why his speciality is "Hard Service" 1911s as opposed to "Art Piece" 1911s.

He just wrote an article on his blog, Modern Service Weapons, listing trainers he would recommend. I thought it very on-point and worth sharing

Pat McNamara is an animal though...good list, just reminds me how many good trainers I haven't taken a class from yet. Looks like a couple will be my direction.

I'd love to take the advanced pistol course with OpSpec/Bruce Gray. Those don't seem to happen very often...
 
Yup, I took Practical Fundamentals on his home range in Spray. I never see any OpSpec courses anywhere near here though. :(
 
I was definitely there before the shop was finished...didn't stop me from leaving my P226 behind to get all smooth and short reset-y though.
