I've won a few trophies so I can shoot passably.

The other day I was PRIMARILY checking "function" but still aiming at paper.
The small distraction of ...slightly... being aware of the functioning seemed to ...help

My groups actually diminished. Like maybe I had been concentrating TOO much on holes and not enough on sight picture but letting instinct take over on the SP thing and sorta thinking about the EXTRACTION erased a touch of flinch?

Anybody ever try this?

I find the more focused I am on my sights the better the group is on the target.

If I start checking my shot placement it throws off my consistency.

Has worked for me too. From a suggession someone posted on THR (sorry, don't remember who) I tried saying, and focusing on "front sight, front sight, front sight" while squeezing the trigger and groups shrunk considerably.

if you go to any of the NRA Bullseye matches, you'll notice on most of the older shooters gun boxes a sign stating as mentioned above, some form of "focus on or watch the front sight",with maybe an expleative or two thrown in. jwr
