from a scoped inline muzzleloader.

At about the last legal shooting moment a big sow came in out with a smaller hog that weighed about 70 pounds. The sow showed up good in the scope. Aimed at the front junction of the white band and fired. Sow went down right there.

The heart was pulverized.

Just out of curiosity- were you restricted at that time and place to muzzle loader? Nice piggy.

Perfect shot placement, well done....ive never actually shot anything with rbs what kinda wound channel do they produce in a critter like a pig?

.50 and .54 caliber pure lead round balls usually exit the average whitetail deer and 150-175 pound hogs shot broadside just behind the crook in the front leg. .54 caliber round balls often expand to the size of a nickel.

Round balls are much more effective than their ballistics indicate. When put in the right place round balls kill as well as 150-180 grain .30 caliber bullets fired from a .308 or .30-06.

i limit my shots using round balls to 80-100 yards.

That's neat. I've done a few hunts with traditional muzzle loading gear and they were always fun.

Looks like a Hampshire sow

Big deal. She most likely IS a Hampshire sow.

I've never in my life seen a wild hog that looked exactly like a domestic hog.

Banded hogs are not rare in that area:

Hog hunting for pay is a big deal in Oklahoma. Bubba and his fellow rednecks routinely release trailer loads of hogs. Some of the hogs i kill look like dirty show pigs. This sow had a notch in her ear:

Looks like bacon to me.....

And yes loves me the smoke poles....

Cleaning them on the other hand, while not difficult, is annoying.
