I have a SP101. The gun was functioning prior to tinkering (imagine that) I took it apart to install a Wolf spring kit. I got it all put back together and it and the trigger would not pull back. I took it apart and followed the reinstallation steps as well as I could understand. It will cycle a few times then it wont then it will. I reinstalled everything without the pawl installed and it pulls fine. I am wondering if there is something simple to watch for or change. I am installing the trigger group with the transfer bar and the pawl straight up. When it does cycle its mighty smooth. I will be grateful for any help.

Do you have the Pawl plunger and its spring in place? It puts pressure on the pawl so it is spring loaded to move towards the cylinder.

This is the little guy that loves to jump across the room when you remove the pawl.

Sounds to me like something is missing or out of place.

To check without taking the gun apart:

1.) Open the cylinder
2.) Lift up or 'pull' the cylinder release button to trick the gun into thinking it's closed.
3.) Gently cock hammer.
4.) Pawl should be sticking out of its slot.
5.) Push on it with your fingernail. It should spring right back.
6.) Carefully Drop hammer before closing cylinder!

We have a winner. I should have waited untill I had time to carefully disassemble but as the father of two small children I was trying to do it between request. Thats it the plunger and spring are missing thank you. Where do I order these from?

Let me tell you. I ordered the grips and spring kit from them and was told they would notify me when things were shipped. Estimated date was 12/27/10. Imagine my suprise when I came home 2 days after I had placed my order and there it was. That was awesome. Thank you for finding those for me.

Well thank you. I got to looking in the area I was working and found the needle in a haystack. I tore the gun completely down and swapped out the springs and gave it a through cleaning. I installed the little plunger into place and it cycled perfectly. Well almost I found that the trigger return had to remain stock. It felt good but the reset just wasnt there with the lighter spring. Also I got the hammer springs mixed up and not sure which I went. I did clean up some of the metal so either way even if I went back with stock springs its smoother. Thank you

I've tried light springs but always came back to stock springs as well.

Glad you found it!

I too had the pawl plunger and spring shoot clear across the room while installing the Wolff springs. Lucky I found it! Don't pull the trigger while out or parts will fly. Definitely wear glasses while working on the gun.

I installed the 9# hammer spring and left the trigger spring alone. Easy as pie! The first time I shot it DA the shot going off surprised me ~ it was sooooo smooth and easy! Slicker than the proverbial snot on a doorknob!!! I can now shoot almost as good DA as SA!!!!!! The wife LOVES it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (It's her weapon).

Working fine and smooth with no FTF or other problems. Primers are dented properly. If I do get a FTF (never had one yet) the 10# spring is going in.

Midway USA sent me the Wolff kit in three days too. Only thing I don't like is their $3 "special handling" fee.
