I'm wanting to trade in a rifle I have that I don't shoot. I was thinking about trading it in for something I will use. I would like to know the approximate value so I know what kind of offer to expect from the dealer. The rifle is a Spanish Air Force Mauser, all numbers match. The only thing missing is the rear sight elevation slider. I would say conservatively it's about 85% condition. In advance please don't make me an offer. I will only deal with a local FFL dealer. Thanks to all who reply. Pontiacdm

From what you've said, it sounds like you're limited to whatever your local dealer is willing to pay. If it's really 85% as you say, I'd say probably $150-$250 depending on the bore. I've got a bubbafied one that my dad bought 40 years ago and I've been looking for one in military configuration ever since. Many of them are converted polish wz-29 receivers. But since you don't want any offers.....

Really? I've seen regular mausers sell for $150 to $250. I've read online the Spanish Air Force models were more scarce. I figured they would sell for a little more.

The previous estimate sounds about right. As general rule, a FFL is only gonna give you about 60-70% of what he thinks he can sell the gun for.

I don't think you can get top dollar for an incomplete gun, even if you think it something minor.

@ Jim, I can replace the piece for $25. I've been around firearms enough to know I'm not going to get top dollar from a dealer regardless. However some dealers will give you a little more in trade in value verses cash. I just looked at it and the barrel isn't pitted. I also noticed their isn't any import marks.
