Took my new Speed six out today..a short session because it was too hot...I shot like crap, but not the gun's fault.I havn't shot for a month..anyway....great gun, shoots a tad high(I'm used to my Glock which I aim in the center, this one requires the 6 o'clock hold.Shot some 158 gr 357's and some TMJ 38+p's...the 357's seemed more accurate, but the trigger cut my finger(need to go to gunsmith to and have it rounded)..I love the gun..also got a holster today for it..Desantis thumb break, going to try to use it as CCW tomarrow...all in all I got a keeper..maybe I'll even have it refinished eventually........Tonyb:cool:

Sweet! I love the Speed Six. I have a 4" SS version and it is a keeper also. If I see any other Speed Sixes around, I am going to buy them but they are not as common as they once were. I just love the looks of the Speed Six, clean and smooth. You got a classic that will outlast you if you don't lose it or sell it. I predict the collector market will catch up to the Six series line in the near future. They may never be as valuable as some of the older S&Ws but the days of being about to pick them up for a song are going fast.

Years ago I had a 2 3/4" Speed Six that was the smoothest, most accurate fixed sight revolver I ever shot. And I used almost nothing but 125g .357's in it. Wish I had never sold it.

I love the Speed Six. I have the .357 and 9mm in 2 3/4 inch barrels. The balance is excellent and they just fit in my hand so well. I agree totally with the looks and the lines. Super revolvers.

I have two .357 magnum speed six's--a 4" blue and a 2 3/4" stainless. Both shot below the point of aim with 125, 148, and 158 grain bullets. I filed down the front sight on the 4" and now it's much better. The trigger on the 4" is stock. It is not as slick as a S&W but it smoothed out with use and is very good. Someone worked on my stainless model, and the double action trigger pull is unbelievably light, but reliable. I really like the Security Six/Service Six/Speed Six guns in stainless.

Quite possibly the best series of utility/duty revolvers ever made. They were my agency's issue piece for many years. They deliver the mail and are darn near indestructible.

Ruger doesn't make many marketing mistakes but I think that dropping the 'sixes' was one of them.
