I have several pistol grip Speedfeed stocks on my various Mossys. They are all the version that allows for storing two extra rounds on each side of the stock.

Has anyone else had problems with the rounds popping out of the stock while shooting? I have been hit in the face several times when the spring loaded rounds 'pop' out of the stock during shooting. I have basically stopped using the stock to hold rounds, which means I wasted money buying those instead of the regular ones.

If I am the only one having this problem then maybe either I assembled it wrong (which I doubt) or I got some bad stocks (I will attempt to return them). If others have had this problem and know of a solution please let me know...otherwise I am getting rid of them for the smooth versions.

thanks for your help

Houston, welcome aboard. It's not just you. I've heard testimonial evidence about this and seen it happen.
Dunno about a fix. Sorry...

Decent stock other wise, run it without the rounds....

I was google searching speedfeed stocks in anticipation of a near future purchase when I stumbled upon a site in which John Farnam was quoted in saying that the speedfeed stocks were failing frequently and that many quick fixes were streaching the springs every several months.Needles to say I gave up on the speedfeed and will persue other venues.YMMV.tom.

I've had the opposite problem.

For now, and only until I can order a better stock from Knoxx, I have a Speedfeed I on my Remington 870P. Frankly, I'd do anything else before installing a "Speedfeed" stock that held spare rounds ever again. Calling them "Slowfeeds" would be more accurate.

The "Speed"feed I holds two shells on each side of the stock. Putting them in the stock for storage is no problem; getting them out of the stock, even casually, is an effort; if you needed them in an emergency, trying to claw them out to save your life could waste time you do not have.

They look great, but if you're interested in getting the shells out of the stock in a hurry, you better spend a lot of time practicing. Maybe it's a problem with my stock, I don't know; I wish my shells came out as easily as yours.
