Have you got 6 or 7 round M686s? If the former I'd go with Safariland's Comp III spring loaded speedloader. They are super fast. :D

If the latter you are pretty well restricted to HKS products. There is a company in Germany that makes spring loaded speedloaders for the 7 and 8 shot Smiths. :what: I have a couple of the 7 round ones and they work great. Unfortunately their maker's name is not marked on them and I don't remember it?

Assuming you have a six shot 686, not a seven shot 686+, the Safariland Comp III is good. The similarly springloaded Jetloader is again available but I have no experience with them. The SL Variant that escaped Krag's memory is good but I don't know where to get them in the USA. I have heard of a source in Arizona but have no details.

Funny......I'm also shooting in a bowling pin match this coming weekend, and will likely use my 6" 686. I even worked up a special batch of .38+P's with 150 Gr. LSWC's for the event. I wanted something hotter than a .38Spl, but not the recoil of .357 Magnum, and still have the energy to clear the pins from the table with one shot.

I've always used the HKS speedloaders, and I do alright with them, however I would like to get a couple of the Safariland Comp III's to see how much faster they are......

Power Custom Inc in Missouri sells JetLoaders for 18.
There's a guy in Arizona over on Gunbroker who sells them for $20.
They're supposed to be a combination of the best features of Safariland and Dade.

I just can't see paying $18-$20 apiece for them though.

I'll stick to my $6 HKS. I've almost 30 years of practice with them.
