Speedloaders - Safariland vs. HKS

Wes - bought two to use with 44 mag SRH - NOT impressed. I daresay with more practice I could make em work better but - just don't cut it for me.

Not something I'd recommend to be honest.

Good to know, Chris. :) My friend just bought an SP-101 and is looking for speedloaders, so I was a little interested for him. I'll let him know.

Wes

I tried the Maxfire loaders because they were inexpensive and I thought the finger ring would make it easier to grab them from a coat pocket.

Now I can use HKS loaders quite well. I am very proficient with Safariland Comp 1 loaders. I am faster with Bianchi speed strips than anyone I know.
I was even finally able to actually use those blasted rubber speedloaders that Safariland included with my first duty belt speed loader pouch back in the mid 1970s.
But to me the Maxfire loaders are :barf:

But I am sure that someone somewhere can use them. But I sure can't.

And I was really hoping they'd work well because they are the only company that has seen fit to make a loader for my five shot Taurus .41 magnum.

Safariland SL's

I got what I think is a Comp I (ie the short handle) Safariland Speedloader (actually, two of them) for my Ruger SP101 (evidently they just generically label the speedloaders for a J frame size gun - ie 5 shots which the SP101
is). I prefer them over the HKS for speed of loading and compactness.

I've been looking for ones for my 686+ but I don't think they make them (which is kinda strange). Otherwise I might carry my 686+ alot more for CCW duty :D

I first latched onto Dades for K & N frame, then tried HKS & took a liking to Safairland Comp II as timeing was out in turning a knob as well.
