no the 270 was federal brass and the nickel....but i have had trouble with the nickle brass sticking...which is actually 99% by fault by under lubing them
Are they all nickel plated? Those usually do not give me more than 3 firings at just under max load using 180 grain Core-Loct bullets before splitting. The unplated tend to last 6-8 reloadings with little problem using the same charge. Almost all my brass are Winchester brand.
i really believe it's a winchester thing. in the .22-250 new winchester brass i bought, i found that they either split on the first firing or last indefinitely. i've got a batch with 6 or 7 loadings on it and i've only annealed it once, but about 25% would split on the first firing. i try to buy once fired on the forums now.
the 270wsm are nickel, which show no wear just have to watch and lube liberally. rvrrat i tend to agree from what i can read online and now from my experience.
