Springfield 1903

I recently purchased a Springfield 1903 (actually made by Remington). I'm wondering if anyone on here can help me identify the date of manufacture. The serial number is 3143XXX. The other significant marking near the serial number is "P.B.S" but it looks as though this was not stamped by the factory (perhaps a unit marking or just somebody's initials). Any information would be greatly appreciated.

So from the looks of it (unless I read it wrong), it was a Remington Arms production M1903 made in 1942.
