Springfield side by side, pat date April 20, 1915

Looking for information and approx value on this 12ga shotgun. There are cosmetic blemishes on the wood and some light surface rust, but it appears in good mechanical condition.

My dad wants to sell this, and I am looking for an approx value and information on this gun.

Those Springfield/Savage/Stevens doubles have value only as hunting guns; they have no collector value. If it is tight, and mechanically sound (they are rather notorious for having only one barrel fire) it would be worth around $150-200. Have it checked by a gunsmith if there is any question.
