I got a fair stash of SRP. I know the SRP are a bit tougher that SPP and not function in striker fired pistols. (Seller Bellot ammo would not fire reliably in my LC9) Do you think the Blackhawk has the ump to reliably set off SRP consistently? It does have a big hammer and good mainspring. I never traveled this road before.
I have a bad rotator cuff and may have to give up rifles and shotguns until I can get fixed. No I don't mean FIXED fixed like you're thinking!
Thanks Catpop

I use SRP's in handgun rounds 90% of the time. My 9 and 40's are only a few years old, but my Ruger Service Six is over 30 years old and sets off all brands of SRP's without a hitch. My first test with SRP's was with that gun using empty cases primed with SRP's. The only problem was that the primers back out when shooting (no bullet being shot out to drive the case back against the frame to push the primer back in). That made the cylinder a little tough to turn, but all shots went off perfectly and I've been using SRP's in SPP cases ever since.

When I first stated reloading there were no SPP to be found locally. I had some SRP's though...
I've got a pair of K-frames that I know have the Umph to set them off.
I do stock SPP and MSPP as well as the aforementioned SRP's now. But in a pinch, I already have data!

I have four of those same revolvers with different length barrels. Those CCI or WIN SRP are all I use in my 38 SPL and 357 loads in them. Just do a proper work up with those primers and you will be happy with the results I bet. Never had one misfire in any of them and that is after 30K rounds or better down range so far over the years.
