I went to a small gunshow today and a local "regular" seller had 2 new Urbeti pistols.
One was a .36 Uberti Colt type revolver (6.5-7.5 inch barrel) that had a dull brushed steel finish and an "engraved" style cylinder. At least the triggerguard was brass, maybe the backstrap too, but I'm not sure. He wasn't sure if it was stainless or not and it was priced at $250. I couldn't find any models with this finish on the Uberti website and I didn't get to check the box for further details. Is this most likely stainless steel and would this be considered a really good deal or only a fair deal?
The other model was a 5.5 inch blued Remington that he said was a .36 also, but I can only find that model in the larger caliber. It was going for the same price. Does anyone know whether or not Uberti even makes a 5.5 inch Remington model in .36? I thought that the cylinder did look a little bit larger overall.

Which one of these pistols would most likely be the better overall deal?

No, it's because as far as I know Uberti doesn't make a stainless C&B revolver anymore; check their website.

The stainless ones they used to make were .44 caliber 1858 models, not anything in .36 that I know of.

Additionally, the stainless they made were bright finished.

Hope this helps.

maybe someone had it specially done to their gun or special orderd it originally.

arcticap... do you think maybe it was actually "antiqued"?

No

It wasn't antiqued.
Among a couple of other revolvers that I've previously run across that were somewhat memorable was an unfired .36 High Standard "We The People" 1776 - 1976 Commemorative Colt ($350) and a new Stainless Pietta Remington ($150).
I'm really not too serious about buying a revolver yet, just open to the possibility. ;)
