I know that the STAR 9mms aren't "clones" of the 1911 since parts don't interchange, but I was wondering if the 9mm 1911 Magazines from other companies will work in a STAR pistol?

For the STAR, the standard mag is an eight round, rounded single stack mag. Shouldn't the mags interchange?

I can't really afford to throw out 40-60 dollars for the Factory ones at gunbroker or Numrichs so any input would be helpful.

For those who aren't particularly sure what STAR pistols are, check out this guys review.

Hello. I believe that the only STAR autoloader that will work with a magazine designed for the 1911 is the company's discontinued STAR PD .45 ACP. The Model B and BM pistols will not.

Best.

Not even for a Springfield 9mm 1911? I've seen the mags together up close a while ago and they seemed like they could fit, but now I'm not sure. I was thinking of buying 9mm mag for another 1911 just to see now...

Thanks for your reply BTW.

No, they do not interchange.

I do not have a 9mm SA magazine but measured the widths on some that I do have.

STAR Model B magazine width: 0.485"
Wilson-Combat: 0.540"
Mec-Gar: 0.545"
Metalform: 0.542"

I checked and none would fit in the STAR Model B.

Thank you Stephen, you have saved me both time and money.

Also, thanks for taking the time to measure...
