Starting Shotshell reloading, few questions

Oh whatever, I'm just going to buy the stuff the recipes I can find call for.

I'm definitely going over 1 1/8 oz with the loads I'm looking at, 15-16 pellets of #1 buck.

I'm pretty positive that the hulls you have are the exact same hull as the cheddite, but check with bpi to be sure. When you refer to your shotshell manual always pick the loads that list a straight walled wad for use in a straight walled hull otherwise you will end up with powder migration at some point. An example would be loads showing federal, fiocchi, cheddite, rio etc. hulls and winchester or remington target wads. Although the loads are safe and would produce about the stated velocity and pressure when loaded, after storage or shaking around in the pockets etc. you will have powder migration and your load quality will suffer.

Any listings showing those reifenhauser type tubes should be picked according to the wads for best performance such as federal or European wads. Since you are just going to start over you can contact bpi and just get your wads from them as the ones they will sell you are of Euro manufacture and will fit those hulls like a glove as they were specifically designed for them and they will also give you some data to use with them if you ask.

What wads do you have on hand? If you have fed 12s4's or cbAA12r's you can pick up a pound of longshot and load 15 pellets in one of those wads over 26.5 to 27 grains with the rio (cheddite) multi hull.

I looked in the latest edition of reloading for shotgunners to see if there was any data in there for you and there is quite a bit data for buckshot using bpi multi hulls. Almost all of the new data for buckshot is converted birdshot loads including 100% of the ballistic products data. It tells tells you what components etc. and just gives the weight of buckshot to use (any size by weight) they did however carry over the old specific data from the previous manual.

There is a load calling for clays in the multi hull, but like i said in a previous post it is for 1 1/8 oz of buckshot, but you might as well use up that clays with practice loads since you can't return it.
