I was recently visiting with a friend of mine. I was telling him how I was thinking about picking up a Romanian AK-47. He said the STG-2000 is a better design. I can't find any information on it, what so ever. The only thing I can find that are an "STG-Anything" are Styers and that isn't even close to an AK. Does anyone out there have any information or pictures on these?

I just bought one. Trigger is a lot nicer than I expected. Front sight block is slightly canted, but this is a 200 yard SHTF rifle so I don't really care. Haven't shot it yet.

It is a WASR with different furniture. However, these aren't imported by century, so that's good. They do look very nice, I think you can still see some good pics on gunbroker.

Do a search, I made a thread on these a while ago.

I'm really trying hard to get enough money to snag one before the prices go up!

From what I understand after talking to a few people. Think of a nice WASR. No spacers in the for the mag fit, not a parts gun. I hear the furniture feels kind of cheap, but the barrel is chrome lined.

These rifles are by no means better than a stock AK--of any sort.

These are an attempt to re-make the German "Weiger" rifle with WASR (I believe) part and some plastic externals. Of all the AK people I know across the web that have messed with them, none of them have been impressed or interested in the rifle. It looks nice in photos but I'm told it is pretty flimsy and there isn't too much to be interested in.
