Still having problems with the Star PD

Okay, I'm still having problems with that Star PD in .45ACP... this time the slide locks back like it should 99% of the time on an empty mag, but it now has trouble going into battery, even after firing a stout load.

WHAT GIVES?! Any areas I can look at for grime/grit that would be doing this??

hi,

i was having similar problems with mine. if you haven't tried changing the recoil spring, try that. i changed the stock recoil spring to a wolff spring, and that solved the problem.

I agree with edw,sounds like the recoil spring. Compact and Commander sized 1911 are notorious for not going comptly into battery when the recoil spring starts to get a little weak.
