I have never bought a new stock for a rifle and I was curious as to what brand I should look into. I'd rather it not be anything too expensive being that the rifle isnt a very expensive one. Long story short I bought my ex a savage axis youth .243 with a froofroo pink camo stock she just had to have. When she left, the gun didnt. I'd like to restock and use it once in awhile just so its not collecting dust in the gun cabinet. On a side note, how hard is it to put a new stock on a rifle?

There would be some fitting involved depending on what you buy.

Have you considered just painting the pink stock. That would seem to be the least expensive option.

There are only a handful of options for the Axis. They would probably cost 50-75% of what the rifle cost. I'd buy a can of Krylon and have at it.

I just recently restocked a rifle with a Boyds stock. Don't know if they make one to fit a Savage Axis but they probably do. The fit and finish was excellent, will use the again it needed. You can visit their web site and find all of their options.

Boyds would be a good choice. They make multiple stocks for the axis. But be warned, they're a lil backed up right now. Going on 2 months since my order but I'm in no rush
