I was thinking about buying some of those Stoner Ar mags from Midway until I got to reading the reviews...specially the latter ones where they were really bagging of them. Are they that bad of a mag?

Thoughts?

I wouldn't buy them for the simple reason of Midway stealing Eugene Stoner's good name after his death, and putting it on an inferior product.

Some folks actually think "Stoner" brand mags have something to do with the man who designed the AR-15/M-16!
They don't!

There are way better mags at not much more money, if any.

I was of the impression that both the Brownell and MidwayUSA 'house brand' AR-15 alloy body mags were made by C-products.

Not true?

I have about 50, 30-round Stoner mags. I have never had any issues with them. They all have the green follow.

Neither Midway or Brownells is talking, so I doubt if anyone knows for 100% sure.

I do know the Brownells mags are very good!

And I also know I will never buy a "Stoner" mag from Midway to find out if they are as good as Brownell's, for the reason already mentioned in my last post.

I seem to recall that C-products admitted as much on another forum.

Nevertheless, all issues with the name aside - the mags work and are reasonably priced.

The Brownell's 20 round mag I have in front of me has scribed on the bottom:

Cproducts LLC
New Britain CT

It has the black follower.

Does the 30rnd mag have the green follower? It appears so on the pic.

At 10 bucks a pop for 30 rounders they are a decent buy if they work. But there are some negative reviews of them towrds the end of this year so that was the reason for the question.

I do have a line on some Center Industries for the same money so maybe thats the way to go.

Midways mags are from CProducts. Brownells used to to be also, but recently went with a different line, not sure which. CProducts mags are very good and have a 100% garantee from the manufacturer. They also have a big sale on their web site. 44MAG.com is also another great place to get mags, including CProducts.

The Stoner mags are made by C Products LLC. Brownells used to be made by C Products but now they make their own.

The C Products mags I bought had a 40% failure rate. Warranty doesn't mean much to me if I have to spend my time and money sending them back. I've never had any issues with NHMTG/Okay mags. But they actually test their mags before they send them out.

I think c-products would definatly make it right if you were to get in touch with them. C-Products and Mag pul are 2 of the best customer oriented companies that I have dealt with in the past. RG
