Strangest Place that You Found a Knife?

I found a cheap hunting knife in the used boat i bought three years ago, found it the first time I was detailing the boat about 3 months after buying the boat. Found a Emerson CQC7 after i had lost it three years earlier in a move, in one of my old workboots i hadn't worn since then whilst cleaning out a shed, BONUS! Also in that bunch of stuff, in a jacket pocket on a coat i hadn't worn since said move, found a cherry like new Swiss Army knife which I had also not seen since the move! I found a old classic single blade slippy with lash la Rue on it in an old tool box and still have it in there. Wonder what it is worth?

I found an arrow stuck in a tree once too, not a knife but I was 7 or so and thought that was the coolest find ever at the time! I had it for years! it was stuck in an old pine on Ft. Stewart Ga, where my Dad was stationed, and where i ended up for some advanced Ranger training when i went in!

I found a Spyderco Rescue behind a gas station while riding my bicycle many years ago. I still have it but have never used it for anything.

Years ago when I was a kid, my Dad would take us boys for a week in the early summer camping, fishing and doing whatever in the woods. Those were good times. One place we camped one year was an old state or national forest shelter (open sides like you might find in state park picnic areas now) which had a partially caved roof on one side, but nice cement floor. It was full of leaves from being there for years. We were cleaning the leaves up or moving them to one side so we could stretch out our pads and sleeping bags on the concrete... found a bowie knife under the leaves. My brother still has that blade. Probably lost by a deer hunter years before that camping outing. Blade was a tad rusty, but cleaned up real good. Great place to camp and we even found a spring about 50 yds or so from the shelter.

Some while ago,I bought and somewhat revamped a 1960 Chevrolet Step Van...and, when driving, I kept hearing a light rattle sound in the Driver's pocket Door area...the Doors slide back instead of hinging out...

Anyway, looked in the narrow gap there several times, finally, saw something vaguely...got a grip on it after a lot of fussing with bent wires, and, turns out it was a really long, curved-end Machete...Wooden Handle was all but rotted away, Blade is not too bad, light rust in some areas, so, I'll clean 'er up, make a new Handle, and enjoy having a nice old long Machete.

Back when I was in high school (a long time ago!) Dad came home with a '64 Rambler wagon that he had just bought for $100. The main reason it was so cheap was that it stank horribly. Dad, being a fastidious sort, sent me out to find out what stank and clean it up.

Turned out to be a wayward pack of hot dogs under the back seat. (Gag.)

I found my very first SAK a few inches away. That little knife spent some serious time in bleach, soapy water, and every other cleaner that I could find, even long after the smell had cleared away from everything but my memory. Never could bring myself to use it with anything to do with food.

A few years ago I dreamed I was on a hiking trail. The trail changed to beach sand and I looked down and there was a red sak. The next day I was at the beach and I found a red sak in the sand. Not the same sak as the dream but still weird. Then, a few weeks later we went to Paris on our honeymoon. This was just after 9/11 and we went through lots of security. On the last day as we were going through some security a French cop told me I had a knife in my bag. I'd forgotten about it. It had been in a pocket of my bag through all those checks. Then the cop didn't do anything about it. My wife calls the knife a gift from the gods.

In 1979, while learning to snorkle at Catalina Island, found a nice almost new Swiss Army knife. Much later, in 1989, about to leave my temporary employment with the United States Navy, that knife, missing both handles, the toothpick and tweezers long gone, spring broken on the scissors, magnifying glass cracked...was stolen. Go figure.

A 1950's Queen jack knife inside an old window unit air conditioner.

I didn't personally find it, but the repair guy that did gave it to me. It was covered in dust and crud from years in that AC unit, but cleaned up enough that it's usable.

Some years ago, my better half and I were walking in a state park on a mild winter day. We took along some snacks, and when we got to a bench overlooking the lake, we sat down and had a light lunch of cheese and crackers, a little wine from a flask, and split a pastry. I was using my Victorinox recruit to slice the cheese and laid it down on the bench by our snacks, that was on the bench in between us. Somehow it got pushed and it fell down between the slats in the bench. Karen says to me, 'I'll get it,' and reaches down under the bench and hands me a sak.

A sak. Not mine. I dropped a recruit, and she comes up with a tinker.

"Honey, this isn't my knife.' I tell her.

"Of course it's your knife, how many red Swiss Army knives are laying around in the woods."

I look under the bench and there's my recruit laying there, a little farther back under the bench in the leaves. I pick it up and show it to Karen. Somebody had their knife drop under the bench and maybe didn't know it.

Karen still has that tinker in her purse. Uses it now and then.

I've been tempted to go back and drop the tinker through the slats to see what happens. Maybe I'll get a hiker?

Found a gerber multitool in the road, a cheap filet knife still in the package by a trout pond and a cheap imitation swiss army knife somewhere that I can't remember. Thankfully I've never lost a good knife.
Wait, I take that back. I lost a Remington folder when I left it on the rear bumper of my truck a few years ago. I wonder who found it.

I had a Italian stiletto switchblade for years and one day I simply lost it.

I had all but forgotten about it and one day after it had been missing for years, I went to put on my boot and it was in my boot. I had been missing for YEARS and it turned up in my boot.

I still have no idea how it got there.
