I've got a Camillus BK-7; what are the two eyelets at the bottom of the sheath for?

I can only assume they are for lashing to the thigh?

If so, what is used? Just a piece of leather lacing? Or?

Thanks,

Sawdust

Sure, if you wear it on a belt for a hiking trip or similar light duty, just use some paracord to provide a leg loop with a looser constriction tension to it. Just enough to prevent any serious flooping around. More serious ops may dictate a tighter hold.

I've also seen these types of sheaths attatched to daypacks, harnesses, suspenders and such, and the eyelets would also be useful then too.

In a pinch, long shoelaces can be used in place of paracord. In fact, recent surplus offerings of the official USAF pilot's knife of days past come supplied with just such laces.

Good choice on the Becker!

For tying down.

If you want to tie it to your leg use rubber tubing to keep from restricting your movement. It's an old dive gear trick.
