So a couple of days ago I stopped out at the range and shot my first rifle reloads out of my .270 Win. I am not a very good shot from a bench, so it usually takes me a few shots to figure out how to get steady. I sent my first two fouling shots downrange, and then fired a four shot group from my Weatherby Vanguard. I couldn't believe what I was seeing through my scope, so I walked down a grabbed my target. I couldn't believe it! My first handloads through the rifle, and the four shot group measured .75 inch from the centers of the two furthest holes and two of the four holes are almost on top of each other.
This is about as good as any group I have ever shot. I don't know if I should even adjust powder or bullets or OAL now. It seems like a started with a good combination.

Here is the load info:
130 grain Remington Corelokt Bullets
Federal Brass
CCI Large Rifle Primers #200
58.0 grains H-4831sc
3.300 inch OAL
Slight crimp with Lee FCD

I full length sized the brass on a Lee Press using Lee Dies. I plan on only neck sizing next time. Also, I will start working up with my powder charge and see if I retain the accuracy up to the maximum charge.

Congratulations Shoot&Ski, you have contracted a disease that's incurable. Don't worry though, it's usually not fatal.

All kidding aside, that's what reloading is all about. I recently shot a group with my 30-06 that I thought I would never see from my hand. I actually shot a 3 round group @100 yards that measured 0.255" center to center. I just can't shoot that well so it had to be my reloads. (shot in a stock Howa 1500) I shot a 1.113" group @200 yards with the same ammo with a 10 mph crosswind. (2 of those shots measured 0.4" apart) It's gota be the ammo...
