hey guys, I have a glock 36 that I'm looking for a tuckable holster for. I'm eyeballing a crossbreed supertuck and a comp-tac MTAC holster. I'm 5'5'' 150lbs and wear it at about 4o'clock does anyone have any pro or cons about the two?

I would go with Comp-Tac.

The folks over at Comp-Tac are a pleasure to deal with and I buy all my holsters from them now. Their holsters are excellent in quality and feel and their prices are very reasonable. I just ordered a holster from them for my Sig 229. Go with Comp-Tac you won't be disappointed, plus they always send me a piece of candy with each order:D

I don't have any personal experience with Super Tuck so they could be great also, I don't know.

I have a CrossBreed SuperTuck and my wife has a Comp-Tac apendix carry IWB. Both companies make nice products and both provide excellent service. I cannot speak for the MTAC, because I haven't worn one. I can tell you that the SuperTuck is the most comfortable IWB I've ever tried and I really like it a lot.

I also need to warn you about something else. Tuckability is a completely useless feature unless you have a gun with a very short grip. Most guns print pretty bad with a tucked shirt. I haven't been able to hide anything bigger than a Bersa Thunder or Kahr K9.

thanks guys! I apreciate the feed back. my g36 does'nt print bad and 2,3,or 5 o'clock I currently have a galco U.S.A. and it is not stable enough for me, plus the clip stacked on top just adds to the bulk. appendix carry works best for my galco, but I want a rig more versatile!

Screw Crossbreed. Go with the Comptac. You can get extra kydex bodies so you can carry multiple firearms with one holster. The supertuck has the kydex stupidly riveted through the leather and offers much less utility.

Over the years I have seen people who for whatever reasons don't like one particular product or another. Sometimes they may even share their dislike of that item with others.

I will be the first to admit I don't care for Glock. A search might find a few Glock bashing posts from me, but they were more of a light hearted ribbing at most.

However, I have never seen anyone consumed as you seem to be with Crossbreed. I looked at your posts, and a high percentage of them are dedicated to Crossbreed bashing. Some posts were almost to the point of hatred. What (if I may ask) did this company do to you to make you hate them so much? I think the owner/ceo of Glock would have had to shoot my dog to get me that riled up.

I agree many people are too quick to hate something without good reason. Many people hate Glocks and other gun just because they heard something bad from someone else. When I see bashing posts or threads the only comments I take seriously are the few that actually speak from experience and who justify their reasons of dislike.

I like my crossbreed, most comfortable holster I've ever owned. When I put on my TFOs and it didn't fit, they modified it for free. Tough to beat, but some people have to carry an obsessive torch for whatever they own.

blackcash88 hates us because we refused to d what he wanted, it all started with this email

I was looking at another holster that's very similar
to your Supertuck. The only real difference is the
kydex piece that holds the gun isn't riveted through
the leather. It uses that same screw and "toothed"
backing fastener that you use for the clips. This
allows for the customer to have one holster, but be
able to modify it for more than one carry gun and they
only have to buy the very cheap kydex piece instead of
an entirely new holster. They offer that option, why
don't you? It's probably even more easy to make since
you wouldn't have to rivet anything. Do you not offer
it because you want people to spend the extra money on
entirely new Crossbreed holsters? Man, I wish I'd
seen this holster before buying a Supertuck and/or
during my two week trial period. It WOULD have gone
back. I do like my Supertuck as it's the most
comfortable IWB I've ever had, but I will not be
buying another one since this other holster is
basically the same. I will be buying that one for its
modularity. Sorry Mark, but I can no longer recommend
the Supertuck to my friends, students, etc until this
"modular" feature is implemented by Crossbreed.
Thanks,

In his opinion, we refuse to offer the interchangeable bodies just because we are trying to bleed folks for more money.

The exchange started peacefully enough but the emails continued, each one more venomous than the last, here's another example

You mentioned the Spartan in reference to
interchangeable kydex half-bodies. You forgot about
the MTAC from Comptac. I just got mine (again, your
lost order) and it's been fantastic. I will continue
to NOT recommend your Crossbreed stuff to any of my
friends, family, students, acquaintances, etc until
you offer and interchangeable holsters. Other
manufacturers are doing this successfully and for some
time so don't give me the "I know which one will last
longer" type sh***. You, being a complete doofus, are
losing more and more market share every day. Put that
in yer pipe and smoke it!

This gentleman has been banned from two other very popular boards over 20 times.

One of the senior moderators of one those boards was good enough to send me a list of alias emails that blckcash has used and I cross referecned that to customer emails to find out who it was.

At that point I called him and politley requested he stop with the harrassing emails AND offered him his money back which he did not take me up on.

He prefers to just act this way and carry on with his crusade to singlehandedly ruin CrossBreed Holsters.

(Good Luck Scott, we had another record month last month)

I am sure he will claim innoncence here so I'll provide one more example from him which he sent me when I called him out over in another thread on another board.

Text over on GT is just text. There's no proof I ever
said that stuff. You could have typed/made it up
yourself in response to a valid argument against your

products. Just try it and I'll post this very thing.
See?

What? Mark is making this crap up! It's not like
he's quoting me here on GT, right? He types up some
fake emails in notepad or Word and copy/pastes them

here. Or types fake "emails" directly here on GT in
his posts. This guy is a fraud! Do NOT ever order
from him based on this...

Heck, even stuff can be quoted over there, too with
blah, blah
and it will appear as a

"normal" quote. But they know about that, too.
You'll be busted because there will be no ORIGINAL
post for you to quote from.

Just try me...

God Bless you Scott, I honestly hope you find some peace in your life.
It must truly be bad if houndning me is all you can occupy yourself with.

Mark I must tell you that you are a much finer man than I, because I personally know that you sincerely mean that last comment. You have just that sort of strength in your personal convictions. I do not tend to have such good will for people who do me wrong, but I was never good at the whole "turn the other cheek" thing. The guy clearly does need a new hobby, and I mean that quite literally.

The truth of the above examples is that in this industry from time to time a person comes along with an idea they just think is perfect, and no matter what you tell them you cannot make them happy unless you jump on their joy filled bandwaggon. DSA has run into this regularly with various product ideas that just are not something Dave wants to do, but when you tell people that they can come almost completely unglued. As a good friend of mine often says about such issues, "they don't know what they don't know" and you can never get that through their heads without inviting them to work at the company for a year to learn enough information to make product decisions.

My personal experience is that Crossbreed holsters are exceedingly well made and beyond comfortable. I have never found a rig that carries more sizes and configuration of guns in as comfortable way as Mark's designs. From the smallest pocket pistols to the largest steel framed behemoth (such as my Tanfoglio Limited), Mark can make you a concealed carry rig that will let you wear the pistol comfortably. The holsters are tough, durable, and adjustable to suit ones preferred carry position. They can be tucked most effectively, although I tend to just wear my shirt out as I am never dressed formally when carrying. Their build quaility is a solid as any other brand of holster made.

To be fair I also like C-TAC holsters and have had several. Their entirely Kydex models are not as comfortable as the Crossbreed hybrid designs. Mark's holsters are inherently flexible and made to rest easily against the skin while keeping the pointy bits of the gun from jabbing you. If you want comfort and ease of carry due to weight distribution, the Crossbreed rigs are inherently superior to other designs. As for customer service, you cannot beat their warranty and response times. Mark even gives good service to people who do not play nice.

Thanks Grayrider, it's never easy to deal with such situations.

Usually the facts will speak for themselves if you just bring them to light.

Well that explains allot. Although, I still don't understand the hatred there. If you don't make a holster design he likes, fine, buy something else and move on. His obsession is a little strange to say the least.

On Friday I received my Crossbreed Super-Tuck holster. Looking at the holster only confirmed my impression from the CB web site that it’s an ugly holster and I don’t like all that hardware. So let us get beyond that. The holster is quality is excellent and workmanship is excellent. The guarantee of a 2 weeks trial offer to wear it and a lifetime warranty is hard to beat. The lady that took my order was helpful and pleasant to talk too. It was stated they were 4-6 weeks backorder but I received my in two weeks. My holster is for my Smith M&P 357 sig and is the full size model. The fact is you can only do so much trying to conceal full size gun tucked under your shirt. The Super-Tuck does a pretty good job. The fact is the profile around your waist (belt) does push out with a gun stuck in there. I think using a Smith M&P compact would really add to concealability due to the shorter grip. The one poster complained about not being able to have different holster models to take of and put on. So I tried my a couple different guns in my holster made for the M&P. Smith 4013 was good, Colt 70 Series 1911 was good, Smith 5904 was good and a Browning Hi-Power was loose. All but the H-Power fits good (no the holster does not contour the outside of the gun) and I would use the holster for them. Something I found interesting about the Colt was that being full size it hid better than the M&P plus it felt really felt good on my belt. I might add I hate carrying my Colt 1911 due to the weight this is reason I purchased the M&P (said I’d never own a poly gun?) due to it’s lighter weight. The Colt holstered in the Crossbreed it felt very good and I didn’t seem to notice the weight of the gun. I believe this is due to the width of the clips from one to the other than having only one clip to support the gun. I’ve got quite a few IWB holsters for my CCW guns and I’ve never been happy with how they wear. I wore the Crossbreed 12 hours yesterday and I’m wearing it today and I’m quite happy with it. It feels good with the gun not poking me in the side. I see you can adjust if lower so I plan to try this latter which I think will lower the grip profile when tucked under a shirt. I will recommend this holster to my friends. In the future I plan to order one for my Kel-tec P-11 and the Hi-Power. To the Crossbreed hater poster all I can recommend is if you don’t like the holster move on get a hobby or something. You know a while back I saw another poster call all Kimber’s pieces of crap? Kimber’s I believer are overpriced but to call them all pieces of crap? I don’t think so. Maybe these two guys can get together and complain to each other? This is my mileage others may vary. Inclosing I still think it’s an ugly holster but this holster may be like the song from years ago. "If you want be happy make a ugly women your wife". :) But then again it’s inside my pants where not one can see it so who cares :banghead:.

No Mark, you don't have all the screen names. Just the ones from a couple of the MANY forums out there. ;)
