i bought a cheep handgun its an hr mod.732 i reload for all guns can any one help with the right brass ead bullits and loads i/v herd there are short long i thought thiss would nice for my wife i load for 14 calibers so im not new at this we have reloading turning the week and going to the caibn on the weekends [4man]:

The H&R 732 is a .32 Smith & Wesson Long caliber. It can also shoot .32 Short.

I load for my H&R 732 with a cast lead Lee 95-grain roundnose slug- alloy is recycled range scrap, water quenched to about 12-14 bhn & tumble lubed in ALOX- and a charge of Titegroup in mixed 32 Long brass.

For load data I suggest checking the Hodgdon powder loading data center online, or look in your reloading manual for suggested loads.

Your H&R 723 is a .32 S&W Long solid frame revolver and capable of shooting heavier loads than the typical factory loading that the manufacturers maintain a low pressure due to the number of pre WWII top break "suicide specials" that are still around.

You need to research older manuals to get much performance from the .32 S&W long. Current .32 S&W Long data is usually on the week side with low pressures and velocities like the factory loads. You can look in older manuals for loads that push the 98gr LSWC or LRN bullets up to 1K fps but since the introduction of the H&R .32 mag the loading manuals have stuck with light loads appropriate for weak guns figuring if you want more performance you'd get the magnum. I have seen a few solid frame Colt Police Positive .32 S&W Long/NP revolvers that have been reamed to accept the H&R magnum.

The old Speer number 10 manual has data they indicated was good for modern solid frame pistols while the start loads should be used for the weaker hinged top break guns.

I found this link to a G&A article on loading the .32 S&W long to be useful: http://www.gunsandammo.com/content/loading-the-32-sw-long
