Hi Folks,

I had a squib today at the range and it jammed into the 4" barrell.
I got home, and with a wooden dowel and a dead blow hammer was able to persuade the bullet back into the case. Then I proceded to tap the cylinder into the open postion because it was stuck and removed the offending round. Now the cylinder release lever will not go fully aft and lock the cylinder in place and therefore the hammer will not cock. I can post pics if needed. I removed the side cover and exposed the trigger guts and nothing seems out of place or bent. Any thoughts or do I need to see a smithy?

Sounds like you bent what ever was causing the cylinder not to swing out easily. My guess woud be the end of the center pin, that sticks out from the ejector ratchet. Or possibly deformed the hole in the frame it fits into.

Maybe...

Joe

The cylinder locks and unlocks into place fine now, the thing is that the cylinder release dosen't go all the way aft to lock the cylinder and allow cocking. It seems like a spring is missing. Does anyone have a detailed parts breakdown of a 586?

I'm able to eject cases with no problem, it seems to lock in place but the release lever never goes home to secure the clyinder.
