I like the OSS myself ( and would like to get either the 9 or the .45) ;but are the same barrel lengths offered with the Pro??
Admittedly,I like the longer barrel/sight radius of a 5inch+ barrel ;as well as the slight bump in velocities-but whuich is mor eimportant to you ???
I'd go with the OSS.

A friend of mine just got a 24/7 PRO in .45. Nice small grip for a .45 pistol, I was very surprised. It was a pretty accurate pistol though it did encounter a couple of malfunctions, but we tracked those down to a bent feed lip on one of the magazines. It functioned 100% with the in-tact mag. If I were you I'd go for the PRO... it seems like the only thing you gain with the OSS is a different colored frame and a longer barrel.

Actually, I have recently found out, the OSS is a totally different gun.

It has - that the PRO does not -

better sights (novak)
match grade barrel
much better trigger
holds 17 +1

Was designed for special ops and the military. A new General came in and canned the program. So - the tooling was done and they went ahead and put the piece in production.

At least that's what I was told by a very helpful CSR at Taurus.

NOTE FROM DR. TAD'S RECENT POST - -

The features on the 24/7 OSS-DS are just second to none really. Steel magazines, metal guide rod, steel sights (night sights), loaded chamber indicator, cocked indicator, manual safety, XL bbl/sight radius, very interesting trigger (it's essentially a standard "half-SA" or "pre-sprung" trigger, except that in the event of a non-fire, it reverts to true double action and then works as a DA/half-SA, if that makes sense), great ergos, great looks, well made, seems to be reasonably accurate, low price. What more could you want in a self-defense pistol? Other than perhaps a better trigger such as a 1911.

revive!!! just wondering what is the velocity difference from a 4" barrel compared to a 5" barrel? I will be getting one of these pistols in short order but not sure which to go with. thanks in advance

I have a 24/7 OSS DS 9mm and a Millenium Pro Pt 745. In either chambering I'd get the Millennium Pro for CC and the 24/7 for all else.
